Momentums of the expedition

Although my expedition will be punctuated by many interesting experiences, some of them could be real trials because of the physical challenge they’ll require.

Crossing part of the Karakoum desert :
This desert situated in Turkmnistan consists mainly of extensive stretches of dunes of quicksand and clay , with hardly any vegetation. There, the climate is as dry as in the Gobi desert . As water supply points are rare, I shall have to carry an important weight of water with me .

The Himalayas from West to East :
This trek will start in Pakistan to end up in Bhutan. I ‘ll cover roughly 4,000 Kms at an average height of 4,500 M, going along summits over 8,000 M high (Everest, K2, Annapurna…)

Sailing on the Bering Sea :
I’ll sail between Russia and Alaska via the Aleutian Islands using a sea kayak over 4,000 kms. Because of the constant fog and the presence of numerous reefs, this crossing is highly hazardous . To date, there is no record of a similar expedition so this could well be a worldwide premiere .

The Rocky Mountains :
I’ll cross this imposing massif leaving from Canada to reach the United States, during approximately 3,500 kms. I’ll hike in the Rocky Mountain Trench for the first part of the trip before climbing to reach the Colorado crests.

The Amazon Forest :
the 5,000 Kms exploration of Amazonia between Venezuela and Brazil is an extreme adventure due to the difficult climate and luxuriant vegetation . Crossing this tropical and humid forest also called “the green hell” requires a total impregnation with the environment .

Western Sahara :
This part of my journey is mostly for the opportunity of meeting with the nomads living in this hostile part of the world . The Sahraouis are one of the last nomadic people I will have a chance to pass during the expedition.

The Atlas Mountains :
this moutain range will be my last stop over before returning to Europe. I’ll hike through the Anti-Atlas and the High Atlas at an average height of 3,000 M . Depending when I’ll reach this region , the weather could be hot and dry or cold and dry . Original birthplace of the Berber people, hiking through the Atlas will be one of the last difficulties of the expedition.
